Choolah cooking at Chitvan,Kanha

We are very proud to communicate that at Chitvan we have reduced LPG consumption by 80%. Initially we installed the Solar cookers, which iimediately reduced the consumption by 50%, and now lately Choolah cooking, which has reduced the LPG consumption by another 30%.

Daily the cakes are made from cow dung, dried, and used for cooking, these cakes are being used in an open Choolah (a traditional mode of cooking practiced even today in Indian villages). Not only does this reduce the LPG consumption in our kitchen, but it also enhances the taste of the item cooked.

So now you see Muffins being made by our solar cooker, entire boiling of vegetables being done by solar cooker, all breads being made on the Choolah, only the final touch is being given on LPG.

Chitvan Ranked No 1 by Tripadvisor.com

New Year begins with a good news for Chitvan, Kanha. We have been rated as the No 1 Lodge in terms of popularity and guest satisfaction in Kanha by Tripadvisor. The credit for this goes to our guests who believed and booked with us, and to our team which put their best foot forward. But the real challenge begins now,as we feel that attaining No 1 rank is good but sustaining it is the key. So whole new benchmarks are being set so that our guests get what they never expect in a Jungle Lodge.
